Hispanic Heritage Month Midtown Sign Contest 2024

For the 2024 Midtown Design Contest, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, I created a piece inspired by the theme "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together." The selected design will be used to create a large-scale temporary public art display using 3M vinyl face wrap on the iconic Midtown sign in Bagby Park in Houston, Texas. Although my design was not selected, I am proud of the work and the opportunity to participate.

My artwork pays tribute to Houston's vibrant Hispanic community, highlighting its hardworking, resilient, and innovative spirit. It features everyday people in various fields—healthcare, education, music, business—reflecting the diverse contributions of the Hispanic community to our city. The design also captures children learning, playing, and dreaming of their future, embodying the spirit of innovation and hope.

I am grateful for the chance to create this piece and look forward to future opportunities to showcase my work in public art displays.
